On Mar. 9, the Class of 2017 got their first taste of what its like to be upperclassman as they received its class rings at the 17th annual Ring Ceremony.
Junior class representatives spent the day with Herff-Jones agents preparing and decorating the auditorium for the lavish ceremony. At 1:30 PM, over 150 parents and students filed into the auditorium to witness and receive their symbolic rings.
The presentation began with opening remarks by the class representatives and a special performance by the school chorus. I was followed by a presentation on the history and tradition of class rings, given by principal Allison Harley and Herff-Jones representative Danny Fernandez.
After the presentations, the junior class marched their way up the stage and through a 10-foot ring, symbolic of their becoming an upperclassman.
