This word is known all too well to high school students everywhere. Stress, the thing we can never seem to evade. Here are some tips on how to deal with and relieve stress.
Tip 1. Stop what you are doing that is stressing you out!
Tip 2. Take slow deep breaths and focus only on inhaling and exhaling.
Tip 3. Get active! Walk your dog, dance to your favorite song, or shoot some hoops.
Tip 4. Talk to someone who cares about you, so when you vent to them they won’t get angry.
Tip 5. Listen to music.
Tip 6. Meditate. There are many useful and free apps available, like “Insight Timer” and “Calm.”
Tip 7. Take a nice hot shower.
Tip 8. Distract yourself with something, anything you enjoy, whether painting, reading or video games.
Tip 9. Login to Instagram and take a social media break. Don’t forget to set a timer.
Tip 10. Get help. If you really can’t handle your stress levels, don’t be afraid to talk to your parents and maybe your family doctor as well.
