The Miracle League, an organization to help kids and adults with special needs play the baseball, held its second annual game at the Krop softball field this past Saturday, November 7th. Baseball buddies, comprised of Best Buddies members, Lightning softball and baseball players as well as students, assisted the special needs players by warming up with them and leading them through the bases. Parents and other spectators watched from the bleachers as players scored home runs and received pitches from the Marlin’s mascot, Billy. The game ended in a 7 to 7 tie, and everyone came out a winner. The Miracle League plans to open a specialized field in Tamiami Park in the near future, to find out more information and to donate please visit: molmd.com.
