On Sept. 21, our Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) gave out Chick-Fil-A sandwiches to student members during first and second lunch.
Over 300 sandwiches were brought that day, distributed by parent volunteers near the north patio. There are currently 275 student members at Krop, but the PTSA hopes to bring that number up to 500 this school year.
“It’s one of the benefits the students get for joining,” PTSA president Dailyn Mills said. “[PTSA] is important because the parents are involved, the students are involved and the community is involved. We’re giving back and we’re helping the school be a better place.”
Students were eager to get their free lunch, with lines stretching across the area in front of the cafeteria. Some students even decided to sign up for PTSA after learning about the club’s initiatives.
“It made me want to join after seeing the kinds of things they do,” senior Mariah Saint-Hilare said.
PTSA was also present at the fall Club Fair on Sept. 8, gaining 30 new members at their table.
