Students start sports website
Four months ago, Juniors Pablo Rosero and Jordan Artzy created a new sports website called sportsroutes.com to navigate and share their sports opinions.
“We were just two people who were interested in sports and feel that we know a lot about them, so we just wanted to share our own opinions,” Rosero said.
In order to advertise and put the website on the map, Rosero and Artzy partnered with a company called Sleefs — an athletic clothing company based in Davie who hosts events and competitions in South Florida. This partnership asks that sportsroutes.com events be hosted by Sleefs to help promote them back.
Sleefs hosted events such as the Savage Combine, a workout and training day for the top high school receivers in South Florida and an interview with Bermane Stiverne, former boxing champion. Additionally, Sleefs partnered with the Jacksonville Jaguars’ receiver Allen Hurns and his foundation to give back to his high school Alma Mater, Carol City, with a donation of sleeves, headbands and money to their athletic department. Their partnership with Sleefs allowed Rosero to get an exclusive interview with Hurns.
Rosero understands and recognizes that there are several sports websites and blogs in the world, but will use his will and determination to build off the early success of his website.
“I want to take this as far as I can,” Rosero said. “If it becomes something where we draw a large following then it would be awesome, but if not, I’m just going to enjoy writing articles and putting them out there.”
You can check out the latest articles, interviews and polls from the sites top writers as the team from sportsroutes will look to guide through sports.
“So far what I’ve loved most about the website is being able to discuss sports with people who enjoy them as much as I do,” Rosero said.
