On Mar. 16, students got the chance to showcase their diversity and home countries in PeaceJam’s second annual International Day.
“With PeaceJam at Krop’s goal of ending racism and hate, International Day has united our student body with students who come from every corner of the world.” Senior Co-Chair of PeaceJam Sara Eghtessadi said.
The program took place during both lunches, in which students shared national cuisine and ethnic music from their home countries.
“It was really amazing to see everybody representing their own distinct nationalities,” Junior Simon Assouline said. “It was awesome seeing people who are so different from each other come together as one.”
Israeli students danced the traditional circle dance called the Horah, while Haitian students performed a live performance of native beats.
“The band playing Haitian music was actually really amazing,” Junior Paulina Kalantarov said. “I’ve never heard music like that before, yet I couldn’t help but dance and sing along.”
The Lightning Strike would like to thank Isaac Levi for creating the video.
