HQ Trivia has gained immense popularity in the past few months
HQ Trivia is a live trivia game show app with cash prizes. The app made its debut back in September and costs absolutely nothing to join.
At 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. EST, host Scott Rogowsky, now also known as “Quiz Daddy” and “Trap Trebek,” asks the audience a series of 12 multiple-choice questions on a wide range of topics.
Vine founders Rus Yusupov and Colin Kroll created the new trivia game.
“We all grew up watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. That’s our basis for this kind of stuff,” Kuspov told TechCrunch in an interview.
The questions become progressively more difficult, and players have roughly ten seconds to answer them. Participants that answer each question right split the jackpot.
“The best part about the game is that it’s very fun and I love the competitiveness of the game,” senior Chelsea Powell said.
When the app first made its debut, jackpots were around $100. Now, the cash prize is $1,000 for regular games. Every now and then, a grand prize can range from $2,500 to even $15,000. On Sunday nights, participants can have the chance to win more money.
During the Super Bowl. HQ’s commercial made its 12-second debut. The commercial cost absolutely nothing to appear.
