The upcoming movies for November and December range from a Disney movie about a demi-god adventurer named Moana to an advertising executive encountered by three mysterious figures with the motive of encouraging him to move on from the past in Collateral Beauty.
In the November releasing, Doctor Strange is about a neurosurgeon that embarks on a journey of healing only to be brought into the world of mystic arts. The sci-fi adventure continues with Arrival, where a linguist is recruited by the military to aid in translating alien communicators. The fantasy side of films comes into play in Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them, where a secret New York group of wizards and witches experience and adventure seventy years before Harry Potter comes into the picture. Almost Christmas brings the comedy when a dysfunctional family get together to celebrate Thanksgiving since their mother’s passing.
The December releasing includes a horror/thriller in The Bye Bye Man, when three companions come across a mysterious figure that is the cause of all the evil unspeakable acts by man. Thrillers continue in Kidnap, when a mother is relentless in finding her kidnapped son. A Monster Calls is a drama/ fantasy about a boy who seeks aid from a tree monster to deal with his mom’s deadly illness. On the comedic end, a father forms a rivalry with his daughter’s boyfriend in Why Him? Silence is a historical/drama set in the 17th century where two Jesuit priests face persecution and violence as they travel to Japan to locate their mentor and spread Christianity.
