Each year, the committee at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominates a group of artists due to their musical excellence and talent. Artists become eligible 25 years after their first record or single. The 2017 inductees include popular artists and bands like Tupac Shakur, Pearl Jam, Journey, Janet Jackson, Chaka Khan, the Electric Light Orchestra, and others.

Since 2012, fans have been given the chance to vote for their favorite artists that they like to see inducted. The event will take place at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, some time in 2017 (Date has not been scheduled yet). The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has been inducting admired artists since 1986, including the likes of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Elvis Presley, Madonna, Michael Jackson, and the list goes on.
