On Apr. 19, Krop held its second annual Academic Scholarship Signing Party, an event held to celebrate academic achievements. Organized by activities director Michelle Russell, Seniors who were awarded scholarships by their prospective colleges and/or the Bright Futures Program were invited to partake in the event.
At the event, students filled out a certificate listing the scholarships they received and, as a symbolic gesture, simultaneously signed their names on the certificates, signifying their next step in their educational careers.

“It’s the celebration of the culmination of their hard work,” Russell said. “It makes me very proud.”

The seniors were then gifted with an ice-cream bar, a reward for their efforts in high school. While eating, the students signed a poster with their names and college of choice, which will soon be hung somewhere along Krop’s hallways.

“I think of a lot of the students as my children,” principal Allison Harley said. “It’s like the pride of a parent for their accomplishments to be recognized.”
