Starting at $1980, the Samsung Galaxy Fold will be released to the public on April 26th.

The company is using the new 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Display, which allows the phone to turn into a tablet-sized screen when unfolded or a 4.6-inch screen when folded. It also includes two batteries that are separated by the fold but work as one when the phone is operating.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold will also be able to operate three apps at once making it more efficient. The phone will use app continuity in order to keep the app running when unfolding and switching to tablet mode.

Other phone companies like Huawei, Xiaomi and Lenovo, were quick to follow and are teasing their own versions of a foldable phone. Many of these companies are expected to release their own versions of a foldable phone in 2019.

Also included in the purchase of the Samsung Galaxy Fold is a pair of Samsung’s new wireless earbuds. The phone will be available in an LTE version as well as the new 5G version. The phone has a triple-camera system that will be used for both phone and tablet modes.
